Welcome to another Istanbul link tour. In this post we focused on some of the unique music bands from Istanbul. We hope you enjoy our tour.
The first one is a web site, www.newmusicistanbul.com by the musician Seda Öger. She says “The “Listening to Istanbul” website lets you explore the vivid scene of contemporary music in Istanbul. On this website you will find biographies, CDs and other information on composers who are active in the city at the Bosphorus.”
Dolapdere Big Gang founded by the musician and DJ Onder Ulugur is an Istanbul band playing worldwide known pop and rock songs with Turkish instruments and style played by the gypsy musicians from Dolapdere in Taksim.
İstanbul Arabesque Project is a band making modern cover versions of arabesk songs from the 70’s and 80’s.
Baba Zula is a Turkish alternative music group creating a unique psychedelic sound with a variety of influences and a wide range of instruments.

Gayda Istanbul is a band following the thraces of a cultural atmosphere reaching from the Balkans out to the Thrace and Istanbul… as they say on their site.
Alatav is a street band developing new interpretations of Anatolian folk music, sayings and compositions using the santur.
